Hello Beautiful Reader!
This is both a Backstage Pass and a New Release announcement! 🙂 We shall talk today about the fairy tales revisited on Silvery Earth!
It all started back in 2017 when I started with the usual suspects: Cinderella, Snowhite, Sleeping Beauty. Originally available as single ebooks, they’re now under the umbrella of Fairy Tales Revisited on Silvery Earth that has both the eBook and paperback.
The short novel included in that collection, Beautiful, also has its own paperback and eBook, because the paperback has black&white drawings by yours truly in it. In fact it’s the only title of Silvery Earth that still has a cover by me both on the eBook and the paperback, but since I’m also the illustrator, it made sense! 🙂
I had to draw those two because I love them so much. I think Rithvik and Kerrien are very funny to watch (and to write about) and their story is more about the HEA than the actual fairy tale!
I always thought I’d write more, but I didn’t until this year, when I came up with the next batch. So here you have More Fairy Tales Revisited, which include retellings of Beauty and the Beast, Donkeyskin and The Little Mermaid.
More retellings as m/m, although the romance is almost absent or really very sweet.
Beau and the Beast – our young book-lover hero meets the beast, a Human who dared crossing a Farjulo.
Sealskin – a retelling of Donkeyskin.
The Little Merman gets the happy ending denied to his female counterpart in the original tale!
I still have a couple I’m considering to retell, but couldn’t find my muse to write them yet. That’s why this much shorter book is only in eBook form and it’s not a volume 2 – that will come out whenever I write the rest.
I have considered Rapunzel, especially after seeing this lovely cover for Burly Tales, but unfortunately burly bears aren’t really my ideal men, so I decided not to send them anything.
I might eventually come up with a male Rapunzel, but considering how much I hate men’s facial hair, I probably better find some other tale to retell! I have a couple in mind, so eventually I’ll get to them…
Unless I steal the collection of world tales from Mom’s and re-read everything. Which might allow me to retel Asian or African tales on Silvery Earth, since my secondary world has the same kind of humanity as our Earth – but with the Magical Races! 😉
Stay tuned for more Silvery Earth titles that will take us till the end of the year… and then we’ll see what happens in 2020!
UPDATE: Fairy Tales Revisited on Silvery Earth is now available also in the bundle The Might Have Been – Tales and Retales!
